About Us
Glenn’s construction heritage goes back generations. His grandfather started as a craftsman carpenter which led to him teaming up with his brother to construct houses throughout the Sarnia area. As a young boy Glenn worked along with his grandfather renovating the family home on their farm near Komoka.
As a teenager Glenn worked Saturdays and during the summer with his uncle, a journeyman carpenter, learning the basics of general carpentry. This led to Glenn enrolling in an apprenticeship where his uncle worked at Curtin Construction Ltd. Glenn learned the field experience working on custom homes in Lambeth, Kilworth and extensive renovation/additions for doctors, lawyers and professors in old north London around the hospitals and University. Glenn completed his general carpentry apprenticeship at Mohawk College in 1981.
Glenn continued at Curtin Construction for 11 years taking on roles of oversight in the field and estimating in the office.
In 1988 Glenn and Jenny accepted the privilege of doing volunteer work in Africa and Asia. This utilized their background in construction building educational centers. After five years Seth, their oldest son, came along and they returned to Canada and their home area.
Glenn joined the team at Rawlings Homes. During that era they built mainly in the communities of Thorndale, Dorchester, St. Mary’s and Ilderton. Glenn liked the home town feel of these communities and decided to concentrate his efforts there.
In 2002 Glendon Residential started with Glenn and Jenny along with Glenn’s brother Don. While they have built homes in Mt. Brydges, Delaware, Exeter and London, their activities have centered on the Lucan Biddulph area. Today Glenn and Jenny own and operate the company. Glenn cares for design and estimating. Jenny looks after the accounts. They both share in day to day operations. Their boys Seth and Gavin have started to take an interest in the building industry and help on various phases of the projects.
